Alright, the time has come for me to write about Silked & Stained and their debut album.
I held back on writing about them, as I wanted to end the year on a good note
by reviewing "Love on the Road". I have a special relationship with this band,
which can be attributed to the fact that I've spoken about them a while back.
To be more specific, I believe that a radio should present & promote new music
to its listeners, and as such, I'm doing a continuous journey to find the highest-quality
music that I can. One day on April of 2014, I stumbled upon them by listening to
"Much Love", and I immediately realized that I had found quality music. Then, I
presented them through the "Meet the Band" section.
To quote what I had written back then; "Seems that along with Heart Attack they
will be the upcoming Bands that will dominate the Melodic Hard Rock scene in Greece".
Time has proven this to be right, as both bands moved on to release amazing debut
albums. Let's see what these guys have to offer.
First of all, what we have here is a group of excellent artists, so let's take things
from the start. They have a fantastic drummer who truly stands out and, in my
opinion, at this current point in time in the melodic hard rock scene, he possibly is the best
drummer from his country. Keys and bass are also of high-quality levels, and the guitars
speak for themselves. The guitars' techniques are of a high level, and I'd say they resemble
the American sound from the 90's. Now add the vocals into the mix, which are melodic and
crystal-clear, and you have all the pieces that tie this musical puzzle together.
Along with the albums of the Italian AIRBOUND and Swedish RIAN, "Love on the Road" is one
of the best debut albums of 2017.
.This piece of work shouldn't be missed out on from your collection, and it's a good way for
you to end your musical purchases of 2017 in a good way. Don't miss out on it!
As for the score, because even a perfect 10/10 isn't sufficient, I'm going to do as colleges do,
and give it a 10/10 with Honors! I'll end this review with one phrase: I've been telling you
about these guys all along! (laughs!!)
George "Snaki" Karatzas 10/10: "This piece of work shouldn't be missed out on from your collection,
and it's a good way for you to end your musical purchases of 2017 in a good way. Don't miss out on it!"
