As I press the play button, the first notes of "Home" immediately "fill" the room.
The pieces of this beautiful musical puzzle are beautiful melodic guitars, crystal-clear
vocals from Daren, rhythmic and melodic bass & drums, and amazing keys.
Just as you are thinking of pressing the replay button to listen to "Home" again, here comes
the second track of the album, "I'll Hear You Pray". Within 10 seconds of listening to it,
you'll close your ways and let Darren's amazing vocals and the track's excellent rhythm
take you away on a trip to the past in 1988, and make you feel like you're listening to
something from "Out of the Silence".
The third track coming up is "Strength". Its three strongest points are: the piano, the
crystal-clear vocals and the melodic guitars. A simply beautiful track. These three
tracks have provided an excellent start for the album. We're talking about very
high-quality compositions and performances of Melodic Rock music.
Continuing the album is "Every Time We Say Goodbye". From the moment it starts playing,
you'll close your eyes and let yourself be taken on a journey through its magical musical world.
As you listen to it, you'll feel calm, like when the light breeze cools you as it passes through you.
We may be only 4 tracks in, but it's already apparent that the chemistry between Darren Wharton
and Vinny Burns has resulted in amazing music. After listening to it at least twice more, you'll move
on to the next track.
Continuing the album in the same quality footsteps we have "Days Of Summer", "On My Own",
"All Our Brass Was Gold" and "You Carried Me". Last, but not least, we have "Like The First Time"
and "Along The Heather" closing the album in melodic and calm rhythms, with the latter winning the "battle"
between them due to its guitars and its beautiful chorus.
In summary, you'd expect high quality work from an album with such a line-up, however, this exceeds
your expectations, and is better than what you've thought it would be. There were no tracks created solely
just to fill the album with, every one of them is a high quality melodic rock composition.
The performances were amazing and the album's production was of top quality as well.
Darren's voice is simply amazing, it's as if he's found a magical way to stay in 1988!
Vinny Burns' guitars will drive you crazy in the best way possible, and the keys are simply magical.
Even though we're still early in 2016, I believe this will be among the top 5 best albums of this year.
I'm talking about a MUST buy album. Whatever you are doing on the 15th of July 2016, drop it and
go get this album immediately! As for the score, I can't give it anything more than 10/10, but a
simple 10/10 wouldn't be enough for this album. Therefore, I will do as colleges to, and give it
a 10/10 with honors.
PS: It would be amazing if a video clip was released as well.
