Dutch rockers Vengeance are back with their new album "Piece Of Cake".
The band have released 11 albums since 1984 and with "Piece Of Cake" guitarist Jan Somers has
once again been replaced by his 21-year old son, Timo, after Jan sadly passed away following a
heart attack back in 2011.
This disc has 11 tracks and looking to the songs of the album I have to say that there are some
really great ones on this record. "Piece Of Cake" starts with the song "World Arena" which is a
very good start for an album like this. Great vocals, excellent performance and the band show us
from the beginning that has the control. The CD continues with songs like "Tears From The Moon",
"Raintime Preload" and "Sandman", that each one has something to give. "Tears From The Moon"
is a track with fine mid tempo and flows so great that the band has to be proud about it.
"Raintime Preload" is Vengeance heavy with lots of flowing guitar and "Sandman" is an awesome
song with metal tune with over the top vocals by Goewie. The new album of Vengeance has also
2 really fantastic songs, "Headquake" and "Mirrors", which have A+ quality. In the end of the
disc you can hear the song "Piece Of Cake" and the album closes with a great song which titled
"Goodbye Mother Sky" and Goewie's turn to heavier vocals makes it a strong closing track.
Generally, the new project of Vengeance is well worked and they show us that they are back.
The old and new fans can purchase this burning album without a doubt. When they will push the
play they will understand that they have a great album on their hands.
The new album of Vengeance leaves you with a sweet taste.
