SUMMERS -Interview (2015)

364
Release Year: 2013

Interview taken from Crash Summers.

GEORGE: Welcome to BeRock Radio guys, the most melodic place! I am George, please make yourself comfortable!
We’re glad to have you here. It has been some time since the release of “364”. Are you satisfied with the fan feedback,
the reviews and the sales of the Album?

CRASH: Hi George, We could not have asked for a better response. Both fans and reviews have given us high praise
indeed. The best thing has been that everyone had a different favorite track on the album. Sales can always be better,
but we decided to go for a self release so we are very pleased on what we achieved by word of mouth.

GEORGE: The compositions of the album are splendid! The tracks are amazing. You don’t find songs like “Shot in the dark”,
“Too late”, and “Steal Away” together in one album. What was the secret when you were writing the music,
causing you to provide us with so many Melodic Rock diamonds simultaneously?

CRASH: For us we wanted to make an album we wanted to buy!!! That was the key for us, we have
a formula we use for writing but if the song didn't grab us by the balls then we didn't use it.

GEORGE: What are the most memorable moments during the album’s making?

CRASH: We were lucky that we went to Cyprus to record "364" and we had a private pool.
Popes had a Mankini...enough said.

GEORGE: When do you plan to get into recording for new material?
You spoiled us with “364” and people want more!

CRASH: We are in the studio now, we want the new album to have a more modern sound to it but still have the
things that make Summers, Summers. We want to get it right, we don't want to just churn out albums for the sake of it,
we want it all killer not filler!!!

GEORGE: You’ve shared the music scene with bands such as Tyketto, UFO, Tesla, Skid Row,
FM, Winger, Bonfire and Tuff! Tell us a few words about this experience.

CRASH: It’s always great to share the stage with your hero’s!! They have all been super nice guys.
We`ve also had an awesome response from there fans.
You can also learn a lot from those guys.

GEORGE: What plans do you have for live shows/tours, will we see you in other European countries as well?

CRASH: We have been lucky enough to tour the USA and UK, so touring Europe would be awesome,
but at the moment we really want a new product out before we look to tour again.

GEORGE: Rockers loved the video of “Too late”. Are you thinking of shooting another one from “364”?
If so, which song would you choose?

CRASH: Again no plans to do a song from "364" but we will do new videos for the new album.
If I (Crash) had to do a song I would choose Billy as I would love to be on a western set and Popes
would love to do "Girls".... In a strip club...Tut tut.

GEORGE: For the past 3-4 years, we’ve been seeing a bloom in Melodic Rock\Melodic Hard Rock.
Do you believe that rockers want more quality in the music and listen to more of this centre?
What is your opinion on this?

CRASH: I think there is a lot of great rock songs out there but the problem is Rock is not mainstream anymore,
It`s great that its coming back but people need to look past talent shows for stars and people who make their
name from their life stories rather than their talent.

GEORGE: The music industry in the recent years has changed. We see that a lot of people prefer
digital purchases, which is more convenient, faster and accessible.
What are your thoughts on the future of CDs?

CRASH: I think CDs will be fine, we are thinking of doing a few vinyl copies of our new album
as people are going back to wanting something to hold.

GEORGE: In recent years, social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instragram, have grown into giants.
Can this help a band spread the word of its work or not? What is your opinion?

CRASH: It can be a double edge sword. For world wide exposure its fantastic as we have sold albums to people all
over the world, but one of the main reasons bands are struggling as their music can be pirated, also instead of
having a few bands to listen to there are 1000s to choose from, so many good bands get lost out there.

GEORGE: Do you think that SUMMERS succeeded each goal until now?

CRASH: Id have to be honest and say no, we are never happy, we are just getting started and we know we have
a lot more to give and achieve. We also want to be bigger and better; standing still is not an option for us.

GEORGE: Thank you very much guys! Good luck to everything you do!
The last words are yours; say whatever you like to BeRock Radio listeners and readers.

CRASH: Thanks for all your support and helping to spread the words about Summers.
We are working hard to bring you a new album, and we are going to make it bigger and better than the last.
