Interview taken from Alex Frey .

GEORGE: Welcome to BeRock Radio, Alex, the most melodic place! I am George, please make yourself comfortable!
We're glad to have you here. Will you tell us a few words about how "DEVICIOUS" was founded, and how you came
up with the band name?

ALEX: Hi George, thank you for the invite, I appreciate it.
The DeVicious Origin story is pretty simple, Gisbert, Radovoj, Lars and I met for dinner in Summer 2016, we haven't seen
each other for 20 years, we all lived in other countries but never really lost touch of each other, we just met to hang out and
we started talking how much we miss the music from the 80ies and 90ies and how Grunge Music destroyed everything.

I said to the guys, "c'mon let's start a band" Everyone was excited about the idea but I don't think everyone knew I was serious.
The next day I started writing songs and sent it to the boys and got them hooked. Radivoj said he knows a great keyboarder which
brought Denis on board and after listening to 100s of Demos we finally found Zoran in Serbia through a You Tube Video.
I was using the name DeVicious for several projects before, non related to music, we just loved it and decided to keep it.

GEORGE: All the band members are experienced musicians.
Did your experience play a part in deciding what kind of music you'll be playing?
I am asking because, currently in the rock music scene, melodic hard rock
is the highest-quality and most difficult genre to master.

ALEX: Experience had nothing to do with it, we just wanted to do music we love.
This will always be the rule for DeVicious, the band will evolve and the sound of each CD
will be a bit different but it will always be music we love.

GEORGE: Let's talk a bit about the music. You are preparing to release your Debut album. The first samples
you've released, the video clips for "Everything", "Penthouse Floor", "Calling Angels" and "Crying in the Rain",
are amazing and have given us high expectations.
Tell us what to expect from the tracks of the album.

ALEX: A lot of melodies, tight rhythms and 1 surprise song where we pay homage to the great Ronnie James Dio
and a ballad that will give you goose bumps. Mostly "Never say Never" is about the melodies.

GEORGE: What inspired you when you were writing the tracks?

ALEX: To be honest, the most inspiration came from writing an album as a band that nobody has ever heard of,
I needed a lot of confidence to believe in the success and I needed to transport good vibes to my band mates who
weren't sure if we ever would get signed and if there is an audience for our music.

We didn't want to hire professional musicians from the melodic rock scene just to get noticed, we wanted to write
our own songs and get a direct feedback from the fans. Obviously some songs have a political background like
"One Track Mind" and "Calling Angels" and "The Silence" are about losing a parent and how to cope with your emotions.

GEORGE: Did you encounter any problems while recording of the album?
If so, how did you overcome them?

ALEX: Whatever could go wrong went wrong, seriously… Everyone was at least injured once and ended up in the
studio not being able to play their instrument, we had the loss of a parent to cope with and there been a million little issues,
the entire process was like a test of our will.

Most people would have given up based on the circumstances we went through and the unknown future of the band.
We fought through, got closer together and instead of 2 weeks recording sessions we turned it into 7 months re-writing
sessions and kept improving the music till we thought it was perfect to release.

GEORGE: In the Melodic Hard Rock, scene it is very difficult to stand out and shine above the rest, due to the
high quality music that is expected, do you believe that the band's charismatic lead singer will help you stand out?

ALEX: Only time will tell, Zoran is definitely a phenomenal singer, we are so lucky to have him and I still can't believe
he wasn't already fronting a major headliner band. As I said before, we do what we love and this is our first album,
I believe in order to stand out you need to release a few more albums.

Look at the boys from Eclipse, which each album they themselves apart from the rest a little bit more and now they
are leading the melodic rock scene and have their very own sound. It was a long way for them to get there.
For now we are just happy to deliver our music and leave our heart on the stage every night we play a show.

GEORGE: Are you satisfied with the feedback from media worldwide?
Such as from reviews and fan reactions.

ALEX: Completely overwhelmed by the feedback, as I said before, we didn't know if people would like us, if they would
accept a band with a bunch of no name musicians but they did. The Media and the fans have welcomed us with arms
wide open and they keep sending us positive feedback, we will use this energy and put it into the songs of the second album.

GEORGE: After the release of the first videos for the tracks ""Everything" and "Penthouse Floor" in early 2018,
the band toured in Germany together with the bands Xtasy and Ammunition in March 2018.
What are the band's impressions from this tour?

ALEX: It was fucking awesome! This is the best thing that could have ever happened to us.
I knew the Boys and Silvia from Xtasy a while and it was like going on a road trip with friends,
just perfect. What we didn't expect was how awesome Ammunition are as a band and as human beings.

Age Sten Nilsen or Victor Smavik Borge are Rock Royalty to me , I had posters of them in my room a few years ago
and all of a sudden we are sharing a stage with them. They treated us like equals from the get-go and over the tour we
became friends and I am not suing this word lightly, I believe we really appreciate each other.
Maybe we'll do the same tour again next year!

GEORGE: What has the band been up to in recent times?

ALEX: Rehearsing and writing a ton of new songs for the new album.

GEORGE: In recent years, the music industry has changed.
We see that a lot of people prefer digital purchases,
which are more convenient, faster and more accessible.
What are your thoughts on the future of physical copies, such as CDs?

ALEX: We are lucky enough to make music for grown ups. The kids can't wait to stream the newest Justin Bieber Songs
but Rock Fans still love Vinyl and CDs. Not as much as before but those people who go to see live shows of they want their
signed CD and want to make memories and that is exactly what we deliver to them.

Streaming sites such as Spotify make sense, money gets tighter, people get older and get married, there is no room
in the house to store all the CD's therefore we fully support streaming sites, we even talked with Spotify to get control
over our band profile there.

In the end of the day it is all about sharing what we all love, the music and if someone
rocks out to a stream or a CD doesn't matter as long as he rocks out.

GEORGE: It's not just the music industry that has changed over the years.
Nowadays, we see social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc...)
have become hugely widespread.
How much support do these sites offer to a band and in what way?

ALEX: Zoran, Gisbert, Radivoj and I we love Social Media, Lars and Denis not so much.
For DeVicious as a band it is a fantastic way to connect with fans, keep them close to our hearts and engage in friendships
with them, it is also a best possible way to get your music heard world wide. Our Facebook account is what got us a record deal,
so… yeah we love it.

GEORGE: Thank you for your time, I wish you all the best for the future!
The last words are yours for this interview.
Feel free to say whatever you want to all BeRock's Radio minizine readers!

ALEX: Thank you for the interview, George.
We are really looking forward to see everyone on the road and have a drink with you guys,
we'll be on tour with Hardline in December in Germany and March 2019 we are launching
a large European tour with several different headliners, would be great to meet you all.
